The Gospel of Jesus Christ is news, good news: the best and most important news that any human being ever hears. This Gospel declares the only way to know God in peace, love, and joy is through the reconciling death of Jesus Christ the risen Lord. This Gospel is the central message of the Holy Scriptures, and is the true key to understanding them. In Christianity, Christology (from Greek Χριστός Khristós and -λογία, -logia), translated literally from Greek as "the study of Christ", is a branch of theology that concerns ent denominations have different opinions on questions like whether Jesus was human, divine, or both, and as a messiah what his role would be in the freeing of the Jewish people from foreign.

The Four Gospel Narratives and the One Gospel. In his book, Jesus and the Gospel, New Testament scholar Graham Stanton states: "The decision to accept four gospels, along with the earlier acceptance of a plurality of gospels, was one of the most momentous ones taken within early Christianity, a decision which cries out.   Jesus claimed the divine name (John ) and did things that only God can do (Mark –12; Luke –50). But Jesus also displayed the weaknesses and vulnerabilities common to humanity (Luke ; John ). The belief that Jesus is both God and man is of fundamental importance.

The Gospel According to Jesus is a must read for every believer and is now one of my all time favorite books, (which is saying a lot because I swore I would never read anything from MacArthur again). The topic and the truths presented are very compelling/5().

This insightful observation starts the author's analysis of the four gospels and how they each delve into a different aspect of Jesus/5.

If you use John’s gospel, whether today or on Good Friday, it is recommended that you use the version contained in the Service of Tenebrae (United Methodist Book of Worship ff.) or the Contemporary English Bible, as both more accurately translate the references to Jewish people.

Mebane has edited a version of the New Testament Gospels which tells the story of Jesus as a unified whole. In a work that echoes popular chronological retellings of the Bible, this work rearranges the four Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—chronologically and thematically, providing a single story of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

The question of internal consistency in the Bible also involves the attribution of authorship to its books. The strangest thing of all is that, although their subjects are so diverse and difficult, and although it was impossible for the man who wrote the first pages to have the slightest knowledge what others would write years later, yet this collection of writings is not only unified by men in one Book, but so unified by God, the Author, that.

Biblical literature - Biblical literature - The fourth Gospel: The Gospel According to John: John is the last Gospel and, in many ways, different from the Synoptic Gospels. The question in the Synoptic Gospels concerns the extent to which the divine reality broke into history in Jesus’ coming, and the answers are given in terms of the closeness of the new age.

The Gospel form is the description of the Gospel books as more than just a collection of biographies, but rather, as something similar to expanded biographical sermons, with the primary purpose of presenting the Gospel message and leading people to faith. "Jesus Shock is the second in a series of short works on seminal concerns of the impact that Jesus Christ made in the world.

The first work, The Philosophy of Jesus, explored philosophy in light of Jesus, rather than the other way around/5. If you feel like the Bible's description of the birth of Jesus comes up short, you may want to check out this excerpt from the Gospel of James.
